The Speed Trails were an annual event organised by the Yorkshire Automobile Club. There were a record number of cars from all over the country competing in 19 events for different classes.

The Winco competed in three events:

Event G – Open. For Cycle Cars whose cubic capacity does not exceed 1,100cc. For the gold centre medal and the Y.A.C. Cycle Car Cup.

Winner: J.C. Stringer (8hp Winco 2cyl) 83.7 x 99.1 = 1,066cc

Time 611/5th seconds. 36.53mph.

It would appear that only one other car took part in the race - and that stopped half way down!

Event N – For cars the chassis price of which (including tyres) does not exceed £200. For the club’s gold medal and the Y.A.C. Cup.

A total of 7 cars entered this event. The Winco, which had the smallest engine, was in the first heat but did not make it to the final.

Event P – For all associates of the Royal Automobile Club. For the club’s gold medal and the Y.A.C Cup.

Each competitor to make a preliminary run down the course to provide a basis for the handicap; disqualification entailed if the time in the race was more than 5 per cent faster than the time made in the trial run.

The car was in the fifth heat but did not make it to the final.
